About PhotoAccepted

A rejected photo can delay a passport or visa application by weeks. PhotoAccepted turns a photo from your phone into one that follows the official rules for your document, for free, and without your photo ever leaving your device.

How we get the rules right

Every size, file limit and background rule on this site comes from an official source: a government website, an embassy, or the agency that issues the document. Each tool page lists its sources and the date we last checked them. We don't copy rules from other photo websites, because they are often out of date or wrong.

Rules change. If you spot something that no longer matches the official guidance, please tell us and we'll check it.

Your privacy

Most online photo tools upload your face to their servers. Ours doesn't: everything happens in your browser. See our privacy policy.

What we are not

PhotoAccepted is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any government or embassy. Following the rules gives your photo the best chance, but the authority that issues your document always makes the final decision.

How the site is paid for

The tool is free, with no watermark, sign-up or paywall. The site is supported by advertising.
